Cheri obtained her undergraduate degrees of Honours Bachelor of Social Work and Honours Bachelor of Arts (psychology) from Lakehead University. She completed her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from City University in 2006 and pursued registration as a psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists. During her twenty years in the mental health field, Cheri has worked in various settings including schools, inpatient and outpatient clinics and private practice. Cheri is trained in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Mindfulness-Based practice, and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (Advanced). She utilizes these practices when treating both adults and adolescents in addressing a wide range of mental health concerns, including emotion dysregulation, anxiety, depression, ADHD, substance abuse, eating disorders, infertility, suicidality, self-harm, trauma and borderline personality disorder. Cheri founded Inspired Minds Wellness Centre in 2013 with the desire to treat clients with an integrative treatment approach that acknowledged the mind-body connection, hence receiving her certification in both yoga and meditation training. After attaining her certification in Advanced Clinical Supervision, Cheri also provides supervision and training to students and provisional psychologists. Cheri is a registered provider with the Worker’s Compensation Board and Non-Insured Health Benefits for First Nations and Inuit (NIHB).
