Yoga – a mind-body practice – is considered one of many types of complementary and integrative health approaches. Yoga brings together physical and mental disciplines that may help you achieve peacefulness of body and mind.

Yoga has several positive mental health benefits which make it an important practice tool in conjunction with psychotherapy. It has been shown to:

  • improve the symptoms of depression
  • improve attention deficit and hyperactivity
  • improve sleep quality
  • improves self-esteem
  • increases body awareness
  • improve concentration
  • relieve stress
  • reduce muscle tension and inflammation
  • calms and centers the nervous system
  • reduce anxiety

We incorporate yoga into our DBT skills group, offer yoga classes and run yoga workshops.

A regular meditation practice can increase awareness to the point where the probability of self-actualization is increased, along with confidence, creativity, and empathy. Meditation can also:

  • help you relax your body and mind
  • improve concentration and attention
  • increase memory
  • increase emotional stability and productivity
  • develop insight into how you relate to yourself and others
  • help to decrease stress and anxiety while increasing a sense of inner peace and happiness


We offer drop in meditation classes, meditation series, and incorporate mindfulness meditation into our DBT skills and graduate groups.
